Pharmacy Technical Assistance (French)

The Pharmacy Technical Assistance program trains students to assist pharmacists by processing prescriptions, preparing medications, and managing inventory. PTAs use technology, follow safety regulations, and need strong communication skills.

The Pharmacy Technical Assistance program trains students to become pharmacy technical assistants (PTAs), who support pharmacists in community and healthcare institution pharmacies. PTAs process prescriptions, package medications, prepare sterile and non-sterile preparations, and handle medication dispensing and distribution. They also manage inventory, produce documents, participate in special projects, assist with risk management, and help train peers. PTAs use computer systems and specialized equipment, requiring strong communication and teamwork skills. They must follow health, safety, and environmental regulations.
