CGH is committed to providing a safe, fair, and supportive learning environment for all students to help them successfully complete their academic programs. Within this framework, all students are treated fairly and equitably. Students who fail to support CGH’s academic and ethical standards may face disciplinary actions, including, but not limited to, expulsion.
CGH will generally attempt to resolve issues without resorting to expulsion. Verbal warnings, written warnings, or suspensions may precede the final decision. However, when the safety, reputation, or academic integrity of the institution, its students, or staff is at risk, CGH reserves the right to take immediate action, including expulsion.
1. Student Conduct
All students are expected to behave in a dignified and professional manner and adhere to CGH’s policies and codes of conduct.
2. Misconduct and Consequences
Students may face suspension or expulsion based on the severity of misconduct, which includes but is not limited to:
- (a) Conduct that disrupts the operations of CGH or its students (e.g., threats of violence, violations of inclusion policies).
- (b) Behavior that damages CGH’s academic, professional, or ethical reputation.
- (c) Academic failure or dishonesty.
- (d) Poor attendance below program requirements (without valid medical reasons).
- (e) Interfering with the legal rights of others, staff, or agents of CGH.
- (f) Repeated violations of CGH policies.
- (g) Failure to pay required fees as stipulated in the contract.
- (h) Failure to meet behavioral or academic performance expectations.
- (i) Distribution of unauthorized materials on campus (e.g., advertisements, political or religious materials).
3. Zero-Tolerance Actions
The following behaviors will result in immediate expulsion:
- (a) Violations of CGH’s alcohol and drug policy.
- (b) Violent or threatening behavior toward others on campus.
- (c) Academic dishonesty, including cheating, record falsification, or bribery.
4. Harassment or Discrimination
CGH has zero tolerance for harassment or discrimination. Offenders will be suspended pending investigation. Proven violations will result in immediate expulsion in accordance with applicable laws and CGH’s policies.
5. Safety Responsibilities
Students who endanger their own safety or that of others, either through actions or neglect, may face expulsion.
6. Property Damage or Theft
Students who damage, steal, or misuse CGH property will be required to compensate for the damages and may be expelled.
7. Disciplinary Records
All suspensions or expulsions will be recorded in the student’s academic transcript.
8. Tuition and Refund Policy
Expelled or suspended students are not entitled to refunds unless required by law or their enrollment contract.
9. Notification
Expelled students will receive a written notification, either via email, hand delivery, or registered mail. Students disputing the facts of their expulsion must file an appeal within 5 working days of receiving the notification.
10. Appeals Process
Expelled students may appeal the decision by providing evidence within 5 working days of receiving the expulsion notice. Appeals that are denied will finalize the expulsion.
11. Return of Property
Expelled students must return all CGH property within 10 days and will be held financially liable for unreturned or damaged property.
12. Restorative Processes
CGH reserves the right to implement restorative practices as an alternative or in addition to disciplinary actions to repair harm and foster accountability.
